Directed Studies (SE, EN)

This course of study supports students with an IEP to develop competence in reading and writing. In this class students follow the general education Utah Core Standards ELA 10 curriculum with modified assignments at an individualized pace.

Daily Living Skills  (SE)

 This course teaches functional and life skills to students with an IEP.

Biology Fundamental (S)  (SE, SC)

This course of study supports students with an IEP to develop competence in biology.  This course includes the topics of ecosystems, cells, heredity, diversity, organ systems, and evolution.

Math Electives-Remedial (SE, MA)

This course provides a foundation in basic math skills for students with an IEP.

Secondary Reading (SE) 

Teaches reading skills and strategies for struggling readers.

Study Skills (SE, IEP) 

When determined necessary through a student’s IEP, study skills provide an opportunity for students to complete homework at school with support.  

Course Details 

Students are expected to bring homework from classes with them and to be prepared to work.  If a student does not have homework, supplemental assignments will be provided to help students improve their study skills and academics.

Student Study Skills (SE) 

Students will learn appropriate communication skills and academic relationship building skills along with organizational strategies. Students will learn how to set goals, and be able to recognize and develop the processes for accomplishing those goals.

Transition  (SE)

This course gives students with an IEP the skills necessary for finding, seeking, and securing a job.  Students will explore a variety of job opportunities, fill out applications, interview, and complete resumes.  Students may also participate in job shadowing experiences.
