Requirements:

  • Graduate of a Utah high school
  • Person of color
  • Preference given to those with demonstrated financial need (regardless of FAFSA eligibility)
  • Preference given to first-generation college students
  • Incoming freshman enrolling as a full-time student for the 2021-2022 school year
  • Admission to one of the six listed Utah universities: Brigham Young University, Southern Utah University, Weber State University, University of Utah, Utah State University, and/or Utah Valley University

State Bank Of Southern Utah Scholarship Criteria:

The scholarship is available to all graduating high school seniors.  The funds can be used for any higher education expenses.

UTAH TECH SCHOLARSHIP
The scholarship is only for graduating high school seniors in
Beaver, Garfield, Iron, and Kane County School Districts.
This scholarship will cover most (if not all) of tuition, books,
and fees for up to one year after high school graduation.

Sons of Utah Pioneers Requirements:

  • Attend a Cedar City Area School: i.e., Canyon View High School, Cedar City High
  • School, a charter school, or a homeschool in Iron County.
  • Be admitted to Southern Utah University or Southwest Technical College as a freshman.
  • Submit evidence of outstanding character and scholarship.
  • Submit evidence of community and school service.
  • Write and submit a written one-page essay of a Utah historical person the applicant admires or of a historical ancestor of the applicant.
  • Attach two letters of recommendation.
  • If the winning applicant(s) plan to serve a mission prior to college admission, their scholarship(s) will be held for them until they enroll in the semester following their mission.
  • Scholarship recipients will be asked to make a short presentation to SUP members during their freshman year.

Utah Jiffy Lube “your turn behind the wheel” Students between the ages of 15-17 currently attending high school and are currently enrolled in a driver’s education program either in the private sector or in Utah’s public high schools for the 2020-2021 school year. Seniors will be considered for the “Teen Driver” category. CEDAR CITY ROTARY CLUB SCHOLARSHIP Who: The Cedar City Rotary Club offers four scholarships to qualifying students from Iron County High Schools or child/grandchildren of active Cedar City Rotary Club members who will be attending Southern Utah University.

Requirement:

Send a personal essay along with the application. Your essay, though only about 500 words, is important. Its purpose is to help us distinguish your story, interests and passions from other applicants. It also helps us understand how your goals for  your future aligns both with the work of Rotary International and the academic opportunities of SUU.

2021 UACD Auxiliary Scholarship This scholarship is open to any high school senior in Beaver, Garfield, Washington, Iron, or Kane County pursuing an agriculture or natural resource field.  This cash scholarship is so the  recipient can use it for books, rent, etc. $1,000 May 7, 2021 Applications are available at our bookcase outside the counseling office.
The PB & J Scholarship For students who have experienced personal challenges that may not have allowed them to perform well academically.

What is needed: Transcript and one letter of recommendation (two preferred).

The Explore More Scholarship The Explore More Scholarship is available to new incoming freshman students, resident and nonresident, and transfer students from community colleges who are starting their first semester at the University of Utah.

Applicants must have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA on their most recent academic transcript and a strong background in mathematics, physics and chemistry. Participation in leadership and extracurricular activities is also a consideration.

Utah Farmworker Program The Purpose of the Utah Farmworker Program is to provide services to farmworkers and their families in an attempt to: Help achieve economic self-sufficiency, Contribute to the stabilization of the farmworkers’ continued employment in farm work, Acquire skills that permit them to upgrade their employment in agriculture or to progress to other employment outside of farm work, and Support the farmworker during job training.

To apply for this program, a farmworker must present the following, and complete an application with one of FTT’s case managers:

Army ROTC Scholarships Enables students to enroll in elective leadership and military courses in addition to their required courses. Scholarships are awarded based on a student’s merit and grades, not financial need. They also provide monthly living allowances for each school year. 

Scholarships consist of:

  • Two, three, and four-year options based on the time remaining to complete a degree
  • Full-tuition scholarships
  • Option for room and board in place of tuition
  • Additional allowances for books and fees
  • A score of 74 on the Armed Forces Qualification Test (AFQT), a composite score of 22 on the American College Test (ACT) or a combined score of 1000 in Math and Evidence-Based Reading on the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)
  • Meet the admission requirements of an NROTC – affiliated college or university of choice.

Basic Eligibility requirements for NROTC Scholarship Applicants:

  • Be a U.S. Citizen
  • Be 17 years of age by 1 September of the first year of college

Stech Scholarships

Southwest Tech — Utah Higher Education Assistance Authority Scholarship This scholarship is needs-based. The number of scholarships awarded will depend on the number of qualified applicants and the amount of scholarship money available. Varies – typically under $500 none There is no formal application.
